Supporting Our Work
How YOU can make a real difference

By supporting Home-Start Herefordshire YOU really are making a difference to local families, helping them to give their children the best start in life.

Although family life can be fulfilling and rewarding for many parents it is equally difficult and challenging.  The many problems that life can throw at us can simply be overwhelming and difficult to cope with.  With your help Home-Start can continue to provide a lifeline to help parents cope, enabling them to provide a safe and happy environment for their children.

As an independent charity Home-Start relies upon donations from groups, companies and individuals, as well as funding through charitable trusts & statutory agencies to continue this vital work.

Examples of how YOUR donation could help are:

  • £25 will buy the materials needed to train a new volunteer
  • £100 will cover the cost of training a new volunteer
  • £1000 will support a family for a year.
  • £10,000 will run a family group (for one year)  supporting up to 15 families

The average UK household has about £50 of spare change just sitting around in jam jars or down the backs of sofas. Why not turn yours into cash with Coinstar to help us to reach out to parents and children who urgently need Home-Start support.

Coinstar machines convert those hoarded coins into spendable cash, without the hassle of having to count the coins or go to the bank. They then give you the option to take the cash or donate it to one of the charities listed on screen. Coinstar is a quick and easy way to support Home-Start. Help us make a difference to families who need our help - before our Coinstar time is up in March 2012.

Home-Start UK is a nominated charity on all Coinstar machines in larger Tesco, Morrisons, Asda and Sainsburys stores, and a limited number of Co-ops. But only until 31st March 2012.

To locate your nearest Coinstar machine visit www.coinstar.co.uk or call free on 0800 328 2274.

Coinstar's self-service kiosk is quick easy and fun to use. Choose the "donate" option from the on screen menu, and select Home-Start UK. Then just pour in your jar of mixed coins and watch them add up. The Coinstar machine accurately counts up to 600 coins per minute, saving you the time and effort of sorting, bagging them and taking them to the bank. Please remember to take the Gift Aid receipt and send it to us so we can benefit from claiming back 25p tax for every £1 we receive.

Help us to make vulnerable children safe and fragile families strong
