Become a Home-Start Trustee

Home-Start Herefordshire is asking people with professional skills to step forward and be a volunteer Trustee.

We currently have 8 trustees on the board with a range of skills and experiences. At this time we are looking for a new team player with a passion to help give support and guidance to our scheme.  You don’t need special qualifications to be a trustee, common sense, flexibility and an ability to work as part of a team and a willingness to learn and understand the pressures facing parent today with a genuine interest in supporting families in your community are just as important to us. But if you have a back ground in small businesses, law, an understanding of I T, Fundraising or human resources would be a bonus. . The Trustees volunteers don’t run the Scheme on a day-to-day basis – that’s the job of paid staff – but  as a board  they are responsible for the vision and strategy of the scheme as well as overseeing  finances, staff and property. And whilst this is a serious commitment with legal and financial responsibilities, they have no personal financial liability as the Herefordshire scheme is a company limited by guarantee.

In return for volunteering for very few hours a month, Trustees will be able to enhance their own skills, knowledge, self-confidence and professional networks and know that they have made a real difference to families in Herefordshire.

If you are interested in becoming a Trustee or a Home-Visiting Volunteer, for more information Please contact Home-Start Herefordshire on 01432 371212 or email us at
